These fine silver feather earring are made by using feathers of the Alaska state bird the Willow Ptarmigan to impress the texture onto precious metal clay. What is precious metal clay? PMC is fine silver that has been ground to a fine powder and then a binder is added to make a clay. After you have formed your clay, it is then fired with either a torch or a kiln burning off the binder and leaving you with just the fine silver! Earrings measure approximately 1 1/4" from top of handcrafted ear wire.
